Increase Your Calories

It's great when you can make healthy choices once in a while or come across a nice, easy to make, healthy meal, however, these once in a while choices won't do much good in the long run.

Moving towards a healthier lifestyle is so not easy, not to mention breaking a habit. But, establishing lifelong habits can help you to achieve true and lasting weight management.

I'm gonna dish out some Healthy Lifestyle Tips to help you on this journey, you can thank me later ;)

Tip #1: INCREASE YOUR CALORIES

I'm sure y'all are like WHAAAT??? She's joking right?
Let me burst your bubble a little bit.
While it’s true that lower calories lead to weight loss, eating too few calories can actually keep you from losing weight. Without the proper fuel, the body can hold onto fat stores in case they are needed.
Eating too few calories causes your body to go into starvation mode, thinking, "oh well, since I'm not gonna get fed, I'm gonna hold on to these fat stores", making it difficult for you to burn; instead, it starts to breakdown muscle tissue for energy. The energy you want your body to burn should come from your fat reserves, not your muscles.

Not eating regularly is not good either. For example, if you eat once a day, again, your body will store that food rather than using it for energy. I'm not talking about skipping a few meals once in a while; this is referring to those who have made it a habit to eat only once a day or twice a day. You should constantly provide your body with fuel, healthy fuel, at least three times daily. Don't be deceived into thinking one big meal should cover your entire day.

Find out your own calorie requirement and don't starve yourself all in the name of losing weight. Note that, calorie requirements are NOT the same for every individual. There is actually a formula to calculate this. You gotta stick around for that information though :D

Cheers :)
